Time Cast Pod Machine – Part 2

In this episode: Chief decides to ask us what we’ve been playing recently, and the list might shock you. Show Notes

Chief decides to ask us what we’ve been playing recently, and the list might shock you. And not just because I mention some stuff that I’d talked about on an episode we’d recorded earlier, but isn’t released yet.

I also promise to do a write up on my GPD:XD, which is an amazing piece of hardware. I’ve already mentioned the XD in an earlier blog post, when I plated Rygar (again, thanks to Joe for recommending that game), I’d even added photos of the XD to that post, so you should definitely check it out

I’ll add a link in the “links of interest” section

We talk about how its not possible to release absurd games anymore. Titles like Earthworm Jim could never possibly be made these days, as more and more serious gamers want more and more realism in their games.

We then discuss my idea of a “create a character” video game. Imagine the character creation system from a modern RPG, say Skyrim

that game comes up a lot on this podcast

but as a fully fledged game. I know that you’d play it – because I know that I would too.

We have a brief discussion with open world games, and how the main characters can often become side tracked by nonsense quests (gambling, exploring the map) rather than actually taking on the main quest, which usually has some kind of time limit and emotional connection. After this Squidgey talks us through his complete walkthrough of The Witcher 3, in 1 minute and 30 seconds.

Squidgey talks to us about how he unlocked an extremely drop for one of his characters on Diabolo 3… completely by accident, too.

How cool do these wings look!

Spoiler Break Music

We used an extra piece of music in this episode of the podcast (during the spoiler break). It’s an amazing, chilled out electronic track called “Spectrum (Subdiffusion Mix)” by Foniqz. The full version of the song is available at BandCamp
